Partnering People

Building the commitment, skills, relationships and behaviours to make partnering a success

Given the broad cultural and structural differences that will almost inevitably exist between potential partners, the two parties will need to work together to create the right partnering culture, attitudes and behaviours.  Associated Ideas Ltd has developed the ENRICH© model as the basis for developing a relationships building cycle for continuous improvement.  Not only must relationship development form part of the commitments and targets in any effective partnering arrangement or agreement (the COMMIT model), but also it must be closely linked with business process and organisational change (the EVOLVE model), working in parallel to ensure success of the overall change programme.

This course addresses the ‘working together’ aspects of a partnering relationship, which, if given due attention, will contribute strongly to success. Keys areas covered are:

Evaluating

  • Assessing the readiness for partnering on both sides.
  • Identifying cultural and behavioural change issues and requirements.
  • Measuring relationship maturity as an ongoing process.
  • Building commitment to achieving mutually identified objectives.

Aligning Perspectives

  • Understanding the personal, societal, professional and organisational factors that contribute to the success or failure of business relationships.
  • Examining how different perspectives can be understood and aligned.
  • Introducing models for building effective partnering relationships.

Embedding Change

  • Understanding the different roles and needs of leaders, managers and the ‘shop floor’.
  • Incentivising and rewarding good partnering behaviours.
  • Building skills and a supportive personnel management system.
  • How to embed continuous improvement and habituate a partnering culture.
